จากวิกฤตหนี้เอเวอร์แกรนด์ช่วงสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา ทำให้มีความหวาดกลัวว่าการล้มของบริษัทยักษ์ใหญ่ของจีนอย่างเอเวอร์แกรนด์จะฉุดเศรษฐกิจจีนไปด้วย แม้เอเวอร์แกรนด์สามารถชำระดอกเบี้ยพันธบัตรในประเทศได้ทันเส้นตาย แต่กลับผิดนัดชำระหนี้พันธบัตรดอลลาร์ ทำให้อนาคตของเอเวอร์แกรนด์ยังร่อแร่
นอกจากนี้ฝ่ายที่รับผิดชอบการผลิตรถยนต์ไฟฟ้าของบริษัทยังมีปัญหาการเงิน ไม่สามารถจ่ายเงินเดือนพนักงานบางส่วน และไม่สามารถชำระค่าอุปกรณ์โรงงานได้ จึงคาดว่าจะไม่สามารถส่งมอบรถยนต์ไฟฟ้าตามแผนในปีหน้า ซึ่งนักลงทุนต่างประเทศยังคงจับตาดูว่าจะเกิดอะไรขึ้นหลังหมดช่วงเวลาผ่อนผันการใช้หนี้ 30 วัน
ทางการจีนมีการแก้ไขหลายแนว ตั้งแต่ธนาคารกลางของจีนได้อัดฉีดเงินเข้าสู่ระบบรวมแล้วกว่า 610,000 ล้านหยวน ทำให้ตลาดหุ้นฮ่องกงกลับมาปิดในแดนบวกได้ ซึ่งนับว่าเป็นการปรับโครงสร้างหนี้ครั้งใหญ่ที่สุดครั้งหนึ่งในประวัติศาสตร์
ด้านรัฐบาลท้องถิ่นจีนหลายท้องถิ่นยังตั้งบัญชีผู้รับฝากทรัพย์สินขึ้นใน 8 มณฑลที่โครงการของเอเวอร์แกรนด์มีปัญหาหนัก โดยบัญชีเหล่านี้จะคอยดูแลไม่ให้เงินของผู้ซื้ออสังหาริมทรัพย์ที่วางไปแล้วไปใช้ในการอื่นนอกจากการก่อสร้างโครงการให้เสร็จ
เช่นเดียวกับบางมณฑลที่สำนักงานผู้วางระเบียบการเคหะเข้ามาดูแลและทบทวนการใช้ทุนของบริษัทเอเวอร์แกรนด์ หน่วยงานนี้ยังได้กำหนดเส้นตายเมื่อวันที่ 24 ก.ย. ให้บริษัทรายงานว่ามีช่องว่างการหาทุนอีกเท่าไหร่ แต่ไม่มีรายงานว่าบริษัทได้ทำตามหรือไม่
เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว หนังสือพิมพ์เดอะวอลล์สตรีทเจอร์นัล ยังรายงานว่า ทางการจีนสั่งให้รัฐบาลท้องถิ่นเตรียมรับผลกระทบจากการล้มของเอเวอร์แกรนด์ที่อาจเกิดขึ้น โดยเฉพาะการป้องกันความไม่สงบและบรรเทาผลกระทบต่อเศรษฐกิจ
แนวทางทั้งหมดแสดงให้เห็นว่ารัฐบาลจีนต้องการปกป้องความเสียหายที่เกิดจากการล้มของเอเวอร์แกรนด์ แต่อาจจะไม่ได้คุ้มครองตัวบริษัทโดยตรง ซึ่งความพยายามเหล่านี้ได้ลดความกลัวว่าวิกฤตจะลุกลามออกนอกประเทศ
